CHOP Schuylkill concrete core work continues

Madison Concrete continues its work on the concrete core of the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) Schuylkill, staying a few floors ahead of the structural steel erection below. In early to mid-December, Madison plans to pour the metal deck slabs in the garage area.

The first phase of the massive project involves the erection of a 22-story office tower at the base of Bainbridge Street, along with a parking garage, multiple public open spaces and a surface parking lot. Madison Concrete has been contracted to provide the concrete for the podium level, parking, infrastructure, loading dock and first tower concrete core, totaling 625,000 feet of slab on metal deck and 30,000 yards of concrete.
