Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Schuylkill Ave. Project

Big things are planned by Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with regard to the development of  Schuylkill Avenue (old JFK Vocational School and Springfield Beer sites).  The first phase of the massive project involves the erection of a 22-story office tower at the base of Bainbridge Street, along with a parking garage, multiple public open spaces and a surface parking lot. Madison Concrete has been contracted to provide the concrete for the podium level, parking, infrastructure, loading dock and first tower concrete core, totaling 625,000 feet of slab on metal deck and 30,000 yards of concrete. Site preparation has begun, and Madison’s work is anticipated to begin in May 2015. Previous construction efforts for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia include their Ambulatory Care Center and the neighboring South Campus facility.
