Transforming Philly’s skyline

If you want to see how Philadelphia is reinventing itself, all you have to do is look at the skyline.

The City of Brotherly Love is in the midst of a construction boom, spurred by the first significant population growth the city has seen in 60 years. Residential and commercial building projects are revitalizing formerly gritty, industrial neighborhoods and improving standards of living. These projects are bringing increased revenue opportunities by attracting new businesses and even more residents. And, of course, they are modernizing the city skyline with striking silhouettes.

Philly.com recently published a list of key construction projects that are helping to position the city as a leader in innovation and growth. Madison Concrete has completed or is providing work on quite a few of these structures, including:

  • Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) expansion, including a new 22-story office tower for clinical research and administrative programs.
  • FMC Tower, which will be the city’s first “vertical” neighborhood, offering 50 stories of office, retail and residential space.
  • Hanover North Broad, which is transforming two surface parking lots in the City Center area into two mixed-use buildings with 339 resident units.
  • Mormon Temple complex, consisting of the state’s first temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a meeting house, a 32-story residential complex and a private street.
  • One Riverside Condos, a notably slim and narrow 22-story luxury condominium building purposely designed to accommodate coveted open green space on the property.

We at Madison Concrete are proud to be a significant contributor to the city’s construction renaissance. The construction techniques and materials that Madison has introduced to Greater Philadelphia over the years have helped to expand the collective mindset of what can be done not only in building design, but also in meeting community needs. This has helped lead to concrete structures that are built stronger, taller and more elegant than ever before. Structures that often provide living, shopping and office space all in one convenient location.

Let us know how we can help you with your next project.
