That Championship Feeling!

For the very first time, the City of Philadelphia hosted a parade honoring the Eagles as Super Bowl champions! As a Philadelphia-based firm for almost 50 years, our roots in the city run deep, as does our loyalty to our home team. Although the championship was earned in the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis – a five-level concrete stadium built two years ago with a challenging design – we thought it would be fun to revisit one of the projects we are most proud of – Lincoln Financial Field.

Known as the first home to the Philadelphia Eagles National Football League team from 1971 to 2002, Veterans Stadium began to show signs of deterioration and required modern amenities. Construction began in the spring of 2001 to replace the aging stadium with a new venue. The new facility was designed to provide modern services for fans and more luxury and wheelchair accessible seating.

Madison Construction placed nearly 66,000 cubic yards of concrete for this project. The main concourse level of the stadium consisted of 275,000 square feet of slab and beam structural concrete frame construction, which was placed approximately 24 feet above ground level. The newly built Lincoln Financial Field blends Philadelphia’s history with a contemporary new design, incorporating three open corner plazas with views into and out of the seating bowl. Additional features include an entertainment building with sports bar, team store and hall of fame, and a signature tower and “Eagles Nest” balcony. Construction was completed in the summer of 2003.

Although the project was completed 15 years ago, our love for our home team and the opportunity to be part of their success is something we truly value. How can we help you build a home for your championship team?
