Phase II of FMC Tower construction passes halfway mark

Phase II of Philadephia’s first “true vertical” neighborhood continues as Madison begins work on the 38th floor of the FMC Tower. The second phase of the project includes constructing a 22-story poured-in-place concrete apartment structure that sits atop the structural steel office portion of the tower. During Phase I, Madison provided foundations as well as the 28-story concrete elevator core and slabs for the structural steel portion of the building.

The 861,000-square-foot building, located at Cira Centre South, will feature 622,000 square feet of office space, 229,000 square feet dedicated to 268 apartments and executive suites, and 10,000 square feet of retail space. It is expected to be completed by mid-2016.
