Penn’s Landing pedestrian ramp makes waterfront easier to access

Madison Concrete recently completed work on a cast-in-place elevated pedestrian ramp at Penn’s Landing that improves the connection between Center City Philadelphia and the Delaware River waterfront. The new ramp is Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant and will facilitate easier pedestrian access from the “upper level” of Market Street down to Columbus Boulevard.

Replacing stairs with multimodal ramps along the waterfront is part of the nonprofit Delaware River Waterfront Corporation’s overall initiative to transform the area into an easy-to-access and vibrant destination for recreational, cultural and commercial activities. The general contractor for this project is AP Construction, Inc.
