Mat foundation poured at One Riverside condos

Madison completed the 2,600-cubic-yard mat foundation pour the weekend of Oct. 10 for the One Riverside condominiums project. Nearly 300 concrete trucks were used to pour the 4-foot, 6-inch thick tower mat foundation and the 10-foot, 6-inch thick building core.

The $85 million, 22-story condo development is being built on the western side of 25th Street between Spruce and Locust streets in the Filter Square neighborhood of Philadelphia. The large, luxury residences – including two penthouses – run from $700,000 to $4 million at the high end, with some buyers combining more than one unit to create larger residences.

The project was initially slated as 147 apartments, but developer Dranoff Properties shifted plans to capitalize on the increasing demand for high-rise condos. The number of units has also been changed from original plans of more than 80 now to between 60 to 65 units.
