Phase 1 underway for JFK Blvd bridges reconstruction project

Phase 1 continues as Madison Concrete works with C. Abbonizio Contractors to reconstruct three structurally deficient bridges along John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Philadelphia. The prestressed, adjacent box-beam bridges span over 21st, 22nd and 23rd streets, and the deteriorated bridge decks have been in place since the late 1950s.

Construction is being performed on the bridges one-half at a time (Phase 1 and Phase 2). Phase 2 will begin in early 2018.
