Honored to serve you

By Jim Dolente Sr., Chairman of the Board, Madison Concrete Construction

(published January 2017)

I am proud and deeply honored to share with you that during the General Building Contractors Association’s annual meeting last week, I was named 2017 Chairman of the Board. I begin my service to this worthwhile organization and its members immediately.

For those who aren’t familiar with the General Building Contractors Association, or GBCA, as we often refer to it, the association is a valuable resource for members of Greater Philadelphia’s commercial construction industry. Among other things, GBCA provides a forum where members can network and take part in collaborative activities that promote education and training, safety, and building better relationships within the industry as well as with labor and government. What’s more, GBCA has been doing this for more than a century.

For the past four years, I have been a member of GBCA’s executive committee, and I’ve witnessed what it takes to be a great leader. Past Chairmen Emily Bittenbender and Mack Stulb are great leaders. I am eager to follow in their footsteps with the aid of GBCA’s talented and committed staff. I also look forward to working with the GBCA Board of Directors and committees as we cultivate programs that support and advocate for commercial construction professionals in our region. Together, we will continue to empower our member contractors and elevate the construction industry in our great city.

I invite you to explore how a GBCA membership can help improve your business and position in the industry. Please visit www.gbca.com.
